City & Guilds of London Art School hosts a two-day event showcasing some of the historic and contemporary craft skills they champion on their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This free-admission event takes place on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May and includes an engaging programme of activities alongside the exciting opportunity to glimpse inside a real art school.
Printmaking Workshops
Learn the art of printmaking from the experts in a series of hands-on workshops on Saturday 18 May in the historic print room. The one-hour workshops are £8+ booking fee per person and booking via Eventbrite is essential. Over 18s only. Bookings now open: Register your place
Wood and Stone Carving
The wood and stone carving studios are open, and visitors are encouraged to cast their vote in the ever-popular two-day themed carving competition. As well as watching wood and stone carving in action, you can have a go at stone carving yourself.
Conservation Demonstrations
Students studying on the BA (Hons) Conservation: Books & Paper and BA (Hons) Conservation: Stone, Wood & Decorative Surfaces courses give demonstrations of different conservation techniques and processes. The courses equip students with the specialist knowledge and skills to conserve and restore cultural heritage for the future.
Foundation Show 2024
The Foundation Show is an end-of-year celebration of the outstanding work of the Art School’s 2024 graduates studying on the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. During this year of exploration, students interrogate and extend their art practice and create an impressive body of work, which you are invited to see.
