Andrea Delogu is a visual artist, filigree craftsman (gold and silversmith) and cutler from Sardinia.
As a child, Andrea Delogu gained initial experience in working with materials such as wood, horn and metal from his father. His grandmother recognized his artistic talent and enabled him to train with the most famous goldsmith artist in Sardinia, Atelier Orafo Bruno Busonera. He learned the traditional Sardinian goldsmith’s and silversmith’s art, fine work of filigree and small-scale production of wax models. Then he decided to study at the Art School Foiso Fois in Cagliari, which he graduated with a diploma in art.
Moving to the Austrian region of Salzkammergut, he now designs and produces unique pieces of contemporary goldsmith art in a modern way with processing methods according to millennia-old manufacturing techniques (Egyptian, Phoenician, Etruscan, Byzantine). Andrea’s vision is to find a foundation between tradition and modernity, for building a bridge between classical and contemporary art.
