About
Joshua Aubrook is a British ceramicist based in South West London and specialises in throwing, casting, sculpting and glaze development. Joshua is inspired by the ceramics of pre-Renaissance Britain, taking particular interest in ecclesiastic artworks of the era. Centring idealism over realistic depiction in his form, Joshua creates ceramic artworks which explore how the themes of faith, truth and paradise are expressed creatively from 12th century Europe to the modern day. Recently, Joshua was shortlisted for the Wales Contemporary Awards in 2022, and has most recently exhibited through Bonhams in the Art of Craft auction, 2023.
