About
Sarah P Corbett is an award-winning activist, author and Ashoka Fellow. She grew up in an activist family and has worked as a professional campaigner for over a decade most recently with Oxfam GB as Activism Manager. Corbett founded the new global Craftivist Collective in 2009 providing craftivism (craft + activism) products and services for individuals, groups and organisations around the world to use her unique ‘Gentle Protest’ methodology which has helped change hearts, minds, business policies and government laws around the world as well as expand the view of what activism can be.
Corbett’s quiet, compassionate and visually intriguing craftivism uses the slow, soothing and thoughtful process of handicrafts to help channel feelings of sadness, anger or powerlessness into proactive, encouraging actions to help make hope possible rather than despair convincing.
