About
Dr. Joséphine de Staël obtained her PhD from the Royal College of Art with a thesis on Parisian fine jewellery production. As part of her research she trained as a jeweller at the oldest jewellery school in Paris and worked in the archives of the great Parisian jewellery houses. Joséphine uses classical Parisian jewellery techniques, including lost wax carving and enamel, to create jewellery inspired by the Japanese art of nature.
Inspired by her previous LCW collaborations with Floris, she recently trained as a perfumer at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery and she is conducting research on the Japanese incense ceremony with Kyoto Saga Art College.
